Featured Guests and Organizations for the 2025 Dayton Pagan Festival

Tina/Moonsilk

Bio: Tina/Moonsilk has been a part of the local Dayton Pagan community for many years. Lately, she is most likely to be found at Chalice of the Willow events where she sometimes helps with leading rituals. She has been leading Pagan rituals for incarcerated women at Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI), a local prison, since Oct 2021. She volunteers at DCI about once a month, and uses guided meditations to avoid security issues around sacred objects and to provide better rituals for a fluctuating number of individuals. She writes her own guided meditations to better change with the seasons and help do the emotional and spiritual work within Pagan faiths. While she has her personal patron deities, she has been known to work with a long list beyond those with whom she has a personal relationship.

Workshop: This is two guided meditations, one is for dealing with grief, the other makes space to talk to the beloved dead of one’s choice or to just sit and remember. Both have been used as part of the prison ministry for this time of year. There will be a brief break between the two exercises to allow for emotions to be processed and give a chance to stretch. No deities will be intentionally called, but safe space will be set before starting.

Scarlet Thorne

Bio: Scarlett has two literary degrees and is an advocate for Project Literacy. As a writer and avid reader, she knows the importance a love of reading can have during childhood and works to encourage that in all kids, including her own.

Workshop: Bring your little monsters to listen to Pagan and other themed story books read by Scarlett Thorne. Stories for all ages will be read, including Mama, What’s a Witch?, Goodnight Goon, and Haunted Ohio. Scarlett will also host a small book drive. Have your kiddos bring an old book that they can exchange for a new story! Come grab some hot chocolate and cozy up for a spooky good time!

Dan Bloomingdale

Bio: Dan Bloomingdale has been teaching meditation and stress management for over 20 years.

Workshop: The “Mindful Cleaning & Cleansing” workshop uses active meditation to bring focus, calm, and positive energy into your life. This isn’t your typical sit-on-a-cushion workshop. We’ll explore practical techniques for helping your mind, body, and spirit through nature walks, mindful chores, and workspace centering.
